On June 11, Grade 8 students from Monck Public School visited the Georgian College Muskoka Campus for the Taste of the Trades event.
Throughout the day, students participated in various hands-on workshops, each highlighting a potential career in the skilled trades. Workshops included electrical, where students worked through a schematic and attached appropriate wires on an electrical panel; plumbing, where students practiced putting together pipes and fittings and then testing for leaks; carpentry where students built a small tool box; and computer numerical control (CNC) machine, where students carved a small plaque to put on their tool box.
