The 2024-2025 Kindergarten online registration is now open!
Registration process
Please direct any parents/guardians requesting information for enrollment to the Kindergarten page on tldsb.ca. There will also be a Kindergarten icon placed on all TLDSB elementary school websites by Communications Services linking to the Kindergarten Registration page. Parents/guardians need to register their child(ren) at their home school – one exception is noted below for French Immersion.
We know that some parents/guardians will not have access to the internet. For these cases, we are asking those parents/guardians to phone the school directly to complete the registration process. When contacted, school secretaries will:
- Set a date and time to meet with the parent/guardian either in person or over the phone to complete the registration information.
- The secretary will complete the paper registration form on behalf of the parent/guardian and then key the registration directly into PowerSchool.
Once the online registration is completed, parents/guardians will receive a confirmation email, with further instructions to contact their child’s home school to complete the registration process.
Once contacted, school secretaries are required to view and/or verify the following documentation:
- Proof of age for each child
- Name and phone number for family doctor
- Ask the parent/guardian to update the child’s immunization record online with the health unit. Here are the links: Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit or Haliburton Kawartha Pine Ridge District Health Unit
- Residence road name and 911 address
- Proof of address (eg hydro or phone bill)
- Custody agreement (where applicable). Please review the attached memo for clarification.
Kindergarten Package
We have gone paperless and the Kindergarten package is now this webpage. If a hard copy of the Kindergarten package is requested by a parent/guardian, please contact communications officer, Sinead Fegan, by email or phone at 705-324-6776 extension 22129.
Exception – French Immersion
Please note that through the eReg process, JK/SK students who are registering with the intent of entering French Immersion for Grade 1, their home school is considered the FI school; French Immersion must be indicated in eReg and PowerSchool. For transportation planning purposes only, JK/SK students registering in French Immersion are considered to be out of the school attendance area and a Request for Student Transfer Between School Attendance Areas form must be submitted to Transportation Services. If at any time the family decides to remove their child from the French Immersion program, it should be conveyed and understood that the child will return to their home school.

If families have questions about what school their child will attend, visit mybustoschool.ca and use the drop down menu for “Next Year 2024-2025” to get next school year’s information.
Reshare TLDSB social media posts
TLDSB is promoting Kindergarten registration on Facebook, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter). Elementary schools are encouraged to share these posts on their school’s social media channels to help spread the word.
Other important information
Kindergarten registration is open all year round. However, in order for the Board and schools to plan staffing for the upcoming school year, the Board urges parents/guardians to complete registration by the end of March and urges school office staff to process registrations as they are received.
