Gravenhurst Against Poverty, or “G.A.P.”, is a registered charity based out of the basement of Trinity United Church in downtown Gravenhurst. G.A.P. is focused on supporting our community’s most vulnerable neighbours through three pillars of service: FOOD, TRANSPORTATION & WELLNESS. Through these pillars of service, G.A.P. is able to offer a wide range of programs focused on the reduction of poverty for those living in Gravenhurst and the surrounding area. One of G.A.P.’s primary offerings is the Food Program, that helps to feed over 650 neighbours faced with food insecurity each and every week. Other initiatives include: a Community Kitchen program, G.A.P. Gardens, Food Rescue, Volunteer Driver program along with both a Youth Drop-In and an Art Drop-In. G.A.P. is committed to listening to the needs of those who are most vulnerable and then trying to develop or enhance what resources are available.
It feels good to do good! There are many ways to get involved and G.A.P. is always looking for more volunteers to be part of this vital work for our community.
