City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton schools compete at track and field

On October 5, about 850 students from across elementary schools in the City of Kawartha Lakes and Haliburton County travelled to the Ken Reid Conservation Area to participate in a cross country meet.

Throughout the day, students ran in nine races, separated out by divisions – primary (1 km), junior (2 km), intermediate (3 km), senior (3 km), and a victory race (1 km).

  • Third – Jack Callaghan Public School

“It was an excellent day to be a part of. The weather was perfect and all the runners came out and tried their best,” said event convenor, Mitchell Tomlinson. “It is always great when we can get 850 of our students outside and being active.”
