Welcome back! We hope you had an exciting summer and were able to squeeze in some time for a good book! We have two new teachers working in the library this year - Mrs. Thompson (Days 2, 4 and 5 and Mr. Kemp (Day 1) and Mrs. Fantuz (Day 3). We are excited to be working with the terrific students, staff and parents at Beechgrove!
We have been busy cataloguing over 200 new books for students, including non-fiction, picture books and novels. Also, remember we have a parent library available which includes manipulatives and games to borrow.
By now, all students have had the opportunity to choose library books and a weekly time is scheduled for them to exchange books and experience some of the literacy activities offered in the library. Don't forget to ask your child about what they're reading!
We have added 400 new books to our library shelves! Our new library shelving is expected to arrive within the next 2 weeks! We look forward to shelving all of our new books!
Forest of Reading in the library!
This year the K-3 students will be participating in the Blue Spruce Book Awards. The Ontario Library Association nominates ten picture books to compete for the award. We will be reading and voting for our favourites along with children across the province!
